Antique Scale Redo

Happy Halloween 🎃
Looks like the weather might be nice tonight for the kiddos in the neighborhood to go Trick or Treating.

I was under the weather for a couple of days at the end of last week.  Luckily I was able to fight off a cold and now I am back on my feet.

And to make things worse we had a water pipe in the main bathroom spring a leak.  So Friday was spent with a plumber at the house cutting a huge hole in the wall to fix the leak.  Oh what fun.  Now the water is fixed but the wall will need patching. But that will be another project.

We have been having another wonderful rain storm and it is supposed to last for another couple of days.  It is so nice to think that maybe our drought has eased some. Although the temperatures in the mountains is still way too warm for this time of year.  Only time will tell.

Today's project is to redo an old time scale.  It really needed a fresh coat of paint.  I have had this out in the garage in storage for several years.

Time to make it look good again.

As you can see in the picture below this scale was manufactured in 1907.

I used the aqua chalk paint to match my kitchen.

Here is the first coat.

I gave it 2 coats and then I refreshed the gold around the dial.

I used a fine point brush and Martha Stewart's gold leaf paint to add the gold line detail on the top and sides.

It is so pretty and fresh now I need to find the perfect spot in my kitchen to show off it's new look.

Happy Decorating!
